Thanks to all for the contacts this morning 21 in 3 hours most
of them could be heard in the speaker. I felt like rare DX. Several
stations said they would be looking for me in the morning Saturday.
Weather maybe a problem here very high winds and rain/snow. I will still
be here and will try if possible to be on the air at moonrise ~ 11:00
utc . At 144.145.
Yeh I know its late April in the desert..... But that doesn't
mean its balmy.

Hello fellow Lunatics :
Recently a question was posted by a future EMEer regarding antenna placement. There were several good answers. I’ve had some similar questions for years; although a bit more complicated :
Almost 25 years ago I located my first dish (and associated cabling) in the NE corner of my property; mostly to maximize EU contacts since North and East directions look out over open fields. This then means that in the South and West directions (and everywhere in between) that trees and all of my tropo towers/antennas/guy wires are somewhat blocking my view.
But how much ? Has anyone ever performed or read about any quantitative analysis regarding HOW much metal is TOO much ? For many beam headings, I only have guy wires in the way. How much blockage or pattern distortion would they cause ? Tree and foliage blockage is a bit more obvious, but they are mostly only a problem at low declination.
>From experience, these directions have never yielded as many contacts; although we all know that activity drops off after the EU window.

Hi All
A month or so there was a link on how to calibrate the smart blanker for Linrad
Have a new computer and lost the link
Can someone please send me the link as I have been told this video shows how to also calibrate the FunCubePro+
Thanks Ian VA7SW
Hello all!
I have purchased these antennas built by WIMO as WY209 reference.
The WIMO Manual tells that:
Vertical distance: 3.40m
Horizontal distance: 3.22m
It is strange that vertical distance is longer than horizontal distance. I
asked WIMO about it and they told me that this info is from DK7ZB source.
I can`t find original DK7ZB info, but in the VE7BQH chart shows a DK7ZB 9
elements a bit sorter ( 2.39wl in spite of 2.5wl from WIMO), where the
distances are:
Vertical distance: 3.32m
Horizontal distance: 3.56m
Could someone clarifies what could be the best stacking distance for these
4x9 elements antenna.
Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Simon,
This is a fairly common fault I have had happen twice. Both times were due
to overheating of the HT bleed resistors and a subsequent short circuit to
ground causing the circuit breakers in the shack to fail.
On one occasion I had to replace the ceramic insulators.
The ceramic pillars are NL523W03-012

I bought my replacements from Digikey but they took time to arrive

Hi All,
One of my 2 Henry 3002 stopeed during last contest.
When I start the amp the fuses in the house are going dead.
All the fuses in the Henry are still ok.
I Opened the amp and saw that the ceramic who are holding 3 big resistors
are broken.
Has anybody who has a 3002 seen this before?
Is this the cause off my problem.

In their recommendations for spacing do they say if the antennas are
horizontal or vertical Polarization? Which way do you want to put them up?
H or V ?

Hi Timon,
To get at the HT bleed resistors in the Henry 3002 the easiest way is to
completely remove the RF deck from the top of the PSU/main console. This is
a slow task as many of the screws/nuts are in difficult positions.
Once you have completely removed the RF deck and attached blower, access to
these resistors is easier and you can then replace any broken ceramic
insulators.

Hi all
How do I remover the cover of the henry 3002 so I can tighten the big
resistors in the power supply.
I did remove the back cover and the screws on the underside of the amp.
I did disconnect all the cables to the rf deck.
Can I now remover the cover so that the rf deck stays on the lower cover?
Di I have to disconnect the power switch and the ssb cw switch?
Can I then pull the cover up?
Any help? Maybe some has done it and made a picture?
