Hello!
Because of the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, we regret that the W7GJ 6m EME DXpedition
to FO/A and FO/M and the KB7Q 2m EME DXpedition to FO/M must be delayed until 2021.
Lodging reservations already have been changed, and we are in the process of revising
the licensing and equipment importation authorizations.
The APPROXIMATE dates for the new DXpeditions are:
FO/A (6m only) - October 15-24, 2021
FO/M (TX7MB on 2m and 6m) - October 26-November 4, 2021
Exact dates and operating schedules will be posted on my website after September
2020, when airline reservation dates for 2021 become available:
http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/Austral%20Islands%202020.htmhttp://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/Marquesas%202020.htm
We are looking forward to contacting you and hope that this unfortunate delay
provides you with any extra time you may need to improve your station to get ready
for the FO DXpedition!

Hi Jan,
I guess that a satellite with an orbit time of 170 minutes moves up 42.5
degrees in longitude each orbit, which should rule out that you see the
same satellite every 170 minutes.

Hello Mats!
MNI TNX for your email. I am of course sorry to hear that you are not planning on
including any 2m or 6m in your operation. Please let me know if you change your mind
and need any help organizing the operation to include EME.

I have been having problems with a broadband noise rise on 1296MHz every 170
minutes.
Could this be a satellite transmitter orbiting earth every 170minutes
(2hours, 50 minutes)?
This problem is easily seen using two 2meter dish antennas spaced 17 meters
apart, in a 3MHz wide bandwidth interferometry setup I use centered on
1296MHz here in Norway.
Strong fringes show up every 2hours and 50 minutes and these noise fringes
wipe out all the weaker radio astronomy sources normally seen on that band
and even super strong radio sources like Cygnus A and Cassiopeia A.
Also when in running 23cm EME I see a slight change in background noise,
rises and peaks every 2 hour, 50 minute period rate.
Anyone else notice this noise increase on 23cm EME?
Anyone know what type satellite this could be?
Ps This noise does effect is not seen on the 1420MHz band.

Can someone familiar with Flex Radio give explain the options based upon the
config shown on two different Flex 5000a my father owned.
Thank you in advance,

I love Bob Atkins write up on using LNBs and am in the process of doing that myself but this is the article I originally saw on the subject. FYI stuff to add to the subject.

Hello Lunatics,
I use WSJT-x for my small 2m EME station and was faced to following issue:
I selected deep search and got decodes on a valid time.
This decode indiceted I was called by an italian station and includede OOO report.
It looked valid, but this ham was not active at that moment.
Some days later I got the same "false" decode.
In all cases I cleared average but did that not kept this decode from appearing again.
I presume it stored somewhere but seems I cannot clear it.
How to clear this message ?

Is anyone using the SPX-02 HR with small dish (~1.2m)? If, so, are you happy with it? What's the backlash like? Once calibrated, how well does it keep calibration? Any design or operational flaws? Would you buy one again or do you think there's a better alternative?
Thanks in advance for any comments.

I just wrote up some of what I've been doing for low cost 10GHz EME Rx. Basically, a small TV dish and a modified and optimized LNBF. Along with a GPS locked LO reference I see about 5.8dB sun noise, the DL0SFH beacon can as strong as -12 and I've copied (and decoded) QRA64 signals from stations as small as 50W to a 1.5m dish plus about a dozen others. I've even successfully copied CW signals.
It's not a complete "how to" writeup, but all the relevant info is there for anyone who wants to try it.
