Dear EME Friends,
This is a special request from the WSJT Development Team to all active
users of digital protocols JT65 or Q65 for EME, on any of our bands.
1. If you are using WSJT and have not yet upgraded to WSJT-X, please
consider doing so now. WSJT was an excellent program well suited to
EME, but it has effectively reached end-of-life status. WSJT-X is
better in so many ways -- not least among them, it is fully supported
and being constantly improved.
2. If you are using JT65 for most or all of your digital EME work,
please consider switching to Q65 now. Q65 offers many advantages over
JT65, among them better sensitivity, numerical signal reports, improved
support for message averaging, optional auto-sequencing of messages, and
no need for a callsign database. Future EME-related work by our
Development Group for both WSJT-X and MAP65 will be concentrated
exclusively on the Q65 mode.
3. We are currently working on embellishments to the Q65 decoder that
allow it to track signals that drift in frequency. When using Q65 with
either WSJT-X or MAP65, or some combination of the two, please operate
with "Save All" active. If you observe Q65 signals that fail to decode,
apparently because they drift in frequency, please separate out the
relevant recordings and send them to us. We can use any of the
recording formats: *.wav for WSJT-X, and *.tf2 or *.iq for MAP65.
4. If you have been told that your own EME signals have some frequency
drift, consider doing what's necessary to stabilize your rig. Software
solutions to track drifting signals necessarily come with a sensitivity
cost. Your will do better if your oscillators are stable.
5. If you are a MAP65 user and not currently part of our small MAP65
test group, please be patient. We expect to have a public Release
Candidate for MAP65 3.0, with full support of Q65, available in the
near future.
None of us on the development Team is currently QRV for EME on any band,
so we depend on conscientious input from dedicated users for feedback
that helps us improve the software. Please do what you can to help us
make the software tools you enjoy using even better, in the future!

Hello Friends,
Everything had started well, I had imagined and validated a device to
set up the reflector on its support independently, the station was
ready, but when launching the pursuit, the EGIS positioner refused to go
up in elevation.
After having checked everything, multi-conductor connecting cable, power
supplies, fuses, I finally realized that it was the lifting cylinder
that was seized. Impossible to do anything, nor to investigate further
the mechanics, let alone repair.
I am very very sad to have had to give up my participation in the VK3UM
REF-Dubus contest trophy.
I must now take the time to repair my EGIS positioner ...

Hi all
Rarely post but this is a good as forum as any, since QRO needs power and a
lot of you probably possses more knowledge than myself.
I recently removed 2 IBM server power supplies off a 1u server which, when
modded, are quite commonplace in HAM radio usage (for amplifiers,
series-connected high-current PSU, etc.). I have looked for but cannot find
the manuals/schematics for them and, because the videos posted show
different models, I'm wondering whether people have seen/used them at all
and can guide me towards resources to work on them.
IBM/Artesyn 7001134-Y000 // IBM P/N 39Y7189, output at 12.2V/55A each.
Answers off-list if you do have! :)
Thanks in advance!

Hi all
Just built W6PQL design of his 1296 MHz PA with MRF13750H LDMOS and observ ...
If You built the 1296 PA it can be some missunderstanding, look at his video and see how he solder the LDMOS.
It is solder in 180 degree wrong way for 1296 PA.
I have talk to Jim, and in the video, the copper is for 144 MHz. and for that its the right way, see below.
""The video shows it differently because the band was 2m…layout is not the same for that band, the board is shorter on the other side""
So be care and turn it right if You will use the video for learning soldering in the LDMOS.

We are pleased to announce the General Availability (GA) release of
WSJT-X version 2.4.0, which includes the new digital mode Q65.
Q65 is designed for two-way QSOs over especially difficult propagation
paths including ionospheric scatter, troposcatter, rain scatter, TEP,
EME, and other types of fast-fading signals. Details and
recommendations concerning the Q65 submodes are provided in the
"Quick-Start Guide to Q65", available here:
https://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/Q65_Quick_Start.pdf
The WSJT-X User Guide includes further details about Q65 and is
available here:
https://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main-2.4.0.ht…
Links to WSJT-X 2.4.0 installation packages for Windows, Linux, and
Macintosh are available here:
http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx.html
You can also download the packages from our SourceForge site:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/wsjt/files/
It may take a short time for the SourceForge site to be updated.
WSJT-X for Windows now ships with Hamlib version 4.2 as a dynamic link
library (DLL). This change will allow Hamlib bug fixes to be resolved
by replacing the DLL with an updated version.
WSJT-X is licensed under the terms of Version 3 of the GNU General
Public License (GPL). Development of this software is a cooperative
project to which many amateur radio operators have contributed. If you
use our code, please have the courtesy to let us know about it. If you
find bugs or make improvements to the code, please report them to us in
a timely fashion.
The authors and Copyright holders of WSJT-X request that derivative
works should not publish programs based on features in WSJT-X before
those features are made available in a General Availability (GA) release
of WSJT-X. We will cease making public Release Candidate (RC)
pre-releases for testing and user early access purposes if this request
is ignored.
Bugs should be reported by following instructions found here in the User
Guide:
https://www.physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main-2.4.0.h…
We hope you will enjoy using WSJT-X 2.4.0.

Hello all.
I am looking for a Kuhne MKU 245 HP. It is a 24 ghz amplifier made in
around 2009 that takes an input of .1 milli-watts to get 80 milli-watts out.
I have a 2009 era kuhne MKU 24 GA transverter that only makes .2
milli-watts out so this amp is meant to work with it. If there is another
amp out there to get this low drive up to something higher to maybe get a
1/2 watt to a watt out that would be great to know about.
I have a 17.75 inch bare prime focus and a complete 25 inch offset feed
dish. The 25 inch is a hughes internet up/down dish that is designed for
around 30 ghz up and 20 ghz down so it is made for it. Is a 25 inch offset
going to be too narrow beamwidth for 24 ghz? I would rather go for the
offset and big gain if I can aim it, ha.
24 ghz is new to me so I could use your advice on popular/ideal part
numbers to get to make this unit go go go.

Slowly building my 10GHz EME station.
I will eventually need a four-port WR90 waveguide switch and would be
grateful for any suggestions. Whilst 3-port would do, I'd like to have
4-port so I can include a termination.
For obvious reasons, would prefer not to have to buy new!
