Hi All
A few weeks ago I did some tests with the DL0SHF 24GHz beacon running
its 4.5W SSPA and Q65-60E. A number of '2.4m' class stations had
decoded the 'QRP' beacon without difficulty previously. The objective of
this test was to see if it is possible to decode it with a smaller dish.
The tests took place in early July, certainly not the best time for
24GHz with relatively high temperatures and relative humidity
contributing to higher atmospheric loss. No results were obtained for
the first two days, but on day 3 (7 July) decodes were finally obtained
from an average of 5 periods:
This corresponded with reasonably clear weather and calculated
atmospheric attenuation of just over 1dB at each end. Moon was at
apogee and Doppler spread was 450Hz.
6 wave files from 7 July are available here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1WPq9a_Wu_e-wu_fW1lBOlPkWjBAGdaHl?us…
The decode above was obtained playing back all the files from the start,
with Ftol=100 and RxFreq=800Hz, using the 'Fast' decode setting.
Using the 'Deep' decode setting decoding is possible with 4 periods,
when playing from the start:
A decode from three periods can be obtained if playback is started from
the second file in the set:
Further tests have not been possible to date, but it is hoped to try
again to see if single period decodes are possible with a 1.2m dish,
under condtions with closer moon, lower spreading and lower atmospheric
loss.

I picked up this amplifier as part of a package deal, I am adding 902 to the
station so I may as well get this thing working. A google search is turning
up nothing for this particular amplifier so does anybody know the specs and
mods to get this thing on 902mhz? Has a bunch of surrounding electronic
boards and not knowing what it what and what can be removed/bypassed.
I was told it is a 400 watt amplifier.

I have the subject 300w brick and I think I may have messed up the
wiring during my modification of it, and I can't find a photo of the amp
to compare with to make sure I have put it back together right.
Anyone have a photo of the positive wiring to the control board? Here
is the way I have it wired now:

Its the red wires I'm concerned about. Anyone have a schematic of the
control board?

Hello everybody!
I am looking for any technical/scientifical/specialized reference
describing in some detail the moonbounce communications channel for VHF/low
UHF frequencies.
More precisely, I would be interested in a paper or publication describing
some aspects such as the dispersion time, dispersion bandwidth, whether the
signal follows a Rayleigh or Rice distribution, the type of fading and so
on; and, if possible, how they vary with the frequency in use.
These aspects must have been already studied, but I was not able to find
any technical documentation describing them. If anyone here could provide
any reference, it would be great!
Thanks in advance.
