Hi EME gang,
over the past few days I have received several confirmations of registration
and one cancellation for the EME conference. I am on a business trip in the
UK and I will make adjustments to the www.eme2020.cz website on Friday
30.06.2022. Thanks for your understanding.

A reminder that this coming weekend is the 6cm section. Rules are at EMEContest2022.pdf
I hope to be on occasionally but we have a lot of visitors and so operating hours will be very limited.
The sun is fairly quiet at present so if you take a sun noise measurement we can do some comparisons.

Since I’ve had interest in my complete 10 GHz system that would NOT be local pickup, I took another look at it & figured out how it could be safely packed & shipped. The feed can be removed by sliding it out of a slotted piece of CU pipe which is held in place by a hose clamp. This allows the feed to be adjusted for proper focusing. The dish can be unscrewed (4 screws). Then the RF deck (everything in the AL box) can be unbolted from the brackets on the steel mast. So by NOT shipping the vy heavy steel mast & base plate or the tripod, the entire system can be shipped in 3 boxes. The IF board packed in one box, the dish & feed bubble wrapped separately in another box & the AL box RF deck w/ the EL motor & screw in a 3rd box.
So if someone wants the entire system w/o the tripod or steel mast & baseplate, I’ll substitute the separate feed & WG relay/switch in #6 all for $1,500 + packing, shipping & insurance. or, just the 2 boxes with the RF deck (dish & feed for it + the AL cabinet w/ RF deck) for $900 + packing, shipping & insurance.

Subject: For Sale: Complete 10 GHz System - List #4 (UPDATE as of 6-26-22)
Updated idea. My preference as stated is to sell the complete system as stated in #4 below with pickup only. I know this will severely limit my market. I’ve had requests for the Kuhne xvtr but rather than piece it out, I would consider selling just the RF deck (items #2 & #2 below) by removing the AL box w/ the small dish fm the steel post & stand. I would hv to bubble wrap the heck out of it & take it to either a FedEx or UPS shipper to professionally pack it in a heavy duty box with lots of peanuts particularly to protect the dish & feed. This could be shipped if a big enough box is available. Cost for this would be $900 + actual packing, shipping & insurance. If anyone could be interested in this approach let me know & agn photos are available.

As part of the liquidation of my 10 GHz terrestrial & EME equipment, the following complete 10 GHz system is offered for sale. This is a “quasi-portable” system that I purchased fm K7NII’s estate in 2015. My original plan was to use all of the components & purchase a 30-60 W SSPA for 3 cm EME using a separate 4 ft solid Andrew dish & feed. Due to the difficulty & cost of trying to pack & ship my preference is to sell the entire system & hv it picked up at my QTH which is just north of Prescott, AZ. If needed, I’ll disassemble it & sell off the smaller items piecewise. Prices are OBO + shipping where possible. Photos available on request. Included are:
1. IF consists of Yaesu FT-817ND (hv original box & manual but no mic) which is mounted on a board w/ a 10 MHz osc, JWM Engineering Model 5112 phase locked oscillator & straight key for CW. All were purchased new in 2006.
2. Homebrew (HB) AL box mounted on a heavy steel mast & baseplate. Also hv a tripod included but not sure if it’s heavy enough. A “gold” surface 67 cm (26.5”) dish (f/D of 0.435) is mounted to the cabinet including a HB CU pipe “shepherds crook” feed. An extra CU pipe feed is included w/ drawing showing dimensions. An EL motor & screw are mounted on the cabinet & a HB EL pwr supply is included.
3. Inside the cabinet is a SMA TR relay, sequencer (DEM?) & a Kuhne MKU 10 G2 xvtr (144 MHz IF) which was purchased new in 2006. There also is a small PA mounted (unknown mfg & documentation states it’s 1.6 W out). There is no LNA or pwr supply other than for EL. Whatever documentation & notes I hv will be included.
4. Everything in #1, #2 & #3 above are offered as a complete pkg for $1,500 w/ pickup only. (For anyone interested, I can show you an itemized breakdown & how I arrived at this price).
5. Hv a 4 ft solid Andrew dish which I will sell separately. Notes in file say it’s a Type D4C-21, T112R w/ f/D of 0.387 & 38 dB gain. Also hv steel mounting mast & actuator. $100 (pick up only).
6. Also hv a HB 10 GHz CU pipe chaparral feed w/ WR90 WG 28 VDC switch. Switch is a Dynatech / U-Z Inc model X1-2A2-2 w/ a matching plug. $100 (will sell separately & can ship).
Tnx for looking & 73,

Hi everyone,
I'm finishing my little 23cm EME secondary station.
My place of operation is 150km from where I live and work, I can't be there
whenever I would like, not even every weekend can I ensure that I can reach
my equipment.
So I started thinking about a secondary station that would allow me to have
fun during the week and if I even have to stay in the city, have a band to
work with EME...
23cm I think is the most popular, still immune to the noise of the city.
I decided to mount a small solid 1.8 plate, Septum feed, a transverter from
SgLab, LNA G4DDK.
Now I am considering the RF power and so I would like to know your opinion:
I want to do cheap, since it is my secondary station.
I want to think of a SSPA 200 to 300W, that I can put behind the dish,
that power should be smaller and with less cost of power source.
The available offers are 2:
W6PQL and its 600W kit (one works at my primary site and I'm very happy) but
for this case it's big and the power supply isn't small either.
Bert PE1RKI and his 250W seems to be a bit small, even with its copper
heatsink it could be an option behind the dish.
But I don't want to lose any focus, or chance to get a SSPA off some shelf
that was replaced by big brother.
I would like to know some opinions that help me find my best option for my
23cm EME system.

Is anyone using MAP65 with a FunCube and doing Doppler tracking?
I think you can use an SDR program like HDSDR or SDR console to control the Funcube frequency and you can talk to the SDR programs from WSJTX via an emulator (ts2000). So in principle you can do Doppler control of a FunCube. The part I'm not sure about is how to get the audio data out of the funcube and into MAP65. I'm guessing you can't talk to the FunCube from both MAP65 and the SDR program at the same time on the same USB port. You could get the audio out of the FunCube via the SDR. This would be fine for regular narrow band single (or dual) channel audio, but MAP65 wants wideband IQ audio and I'm not sure if you can interface the SDR program with MAP65 in the way MAP65 wants to see the data. Interfacing with WSJTX should, I think, be relatively simple.
Before I start this, I wonder if anyone has done it already so I don't have to reinvent the wheel. It's very likely it can be done via Linrad. Pretty much anything can be done by Linrad if only you can figure out how to do it. Whenever I've tried using Linrad I've given up after an hour or so fighting with it and the next day can't remember what I did, so, powerful as it is, it's not my 1st (or 2nd or 3rd) choice when it comes to interfacing!
Thanks

Hi EME gang,
Greetings to all participants of EME Conference 2022 in Prague. There are
only 3 days left until the end of registration !!! From 1.7.2022
registration is no longer possible, we have to pay deposits for the ordered
services and submit the number of people for the ordered services.
To date we have 122 fully registered and confirmed conference attendees.
There are 11 participants remaining who have expressed interest but have not
made a binding registration on our website. 26 registered participants
cancelled their participation for various reasons or canceled their booked
services. We are preparing the settlement for this week. According to the
latest information from the service providers, transportation for the trips
on Friday and Saturday will be more expensive. This is not a dramatic
increase, due to the increase in diesel prices, transportation will be 10%
more expensive than what we had offered in January 2020.
There will be one very important item on the agenda for discussion. As Dick
PA2DW already wrote on Moon net, it is necessary to find some suitable
compromise solution for coexistence with Gallileo system in 1296 MHz band.
Barry G4SJH and Attila 4U1ITU will give a presentation on the issue. We
anticipate a discussion on this topic, moderated by Dick PA2DW.
The conference program is in effect, details and schedule of presentations
will be published after 15.07.2022.
The printing of the proceedings, especially the cost of paper and related
items, has gone up 250% since 2020. It was decided that the proceedings will
be published as a USB and distributed at the presentation.
So we look forward to seeing everyone in Prague in August. Have a safe trip
and good luck.
