Wolf, When running a remote station the manufacturer's documentation or software is often not what is required! I have only tested an Icom rig once as a remote possibility and rejected it as 'awkward'! I have run Kenwood, Electraft and occasionally Yaesu rigs remotely. My EME station is always remote - there is no way of operating it at the actual station without plugging a client into the LAN! I have found that the only real way to get lots of pieces of different software to work properly is to install a proper Virtual Serial Port software client and use that in preference to 'bespoke' options. I have been using Eterlogic's VPSE for over 10 years on my remote EME station(Win XP, 7 and 10) that can have as many instances of WSJT/WSJT-X as you like (you must disable TX control on all except one) and HRD to give me the frequency to drive the log. Other VSP programmes do work but I have stuck with Eterlogic's VPSE.
