Hello!
In response to several requests, I have incorporated some new options into my Windows
computer program for tracking the moon, sun and other celestial objects. I have
been using it here and I think I have tried just about every combination of settings
possible and the program still works... so I am officially announcing the
availability of the March 2, 2016 compilation.
There are basically four changes in GJTRACKER Version 3:
1. Moon coordinates are now displayed during periods of New Moon (since the sun has
been pretty quiet lately)
2. Display can be restricted to only an optional user-specified degree range between
certain azimuths
3. Display can be restricted to only an optional user-specified GMT range between
certain times
4. The program no longer restricts you to data for only a single year at a time
All the changes are explained in the revised GJHELP file here:
http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/GJHELP.pdf
Because of the additional default values associated with the above changes, it is
necessary to also download a new GJTRACKER.dat file that contains some additional
items. If you already have installed GJTRACKER on your computer, and you only want
to upgrade the program and the new file for default values, they are available here:
http://bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/GJTRACKER.exe
http://bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/GJTRACKER.dat
However, if you want to download all the files, along with an updated help file
describing how to use the new options, you can download this zip file and extract the
files into your favorite folder. You will certainly need to download all these files
if you are installing GJTRACKER for the first time:
http://bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/GJTRACKER.zip
You may want to just extract all the files directly into your WSJT folder, which I
personally find very convenient. That way, both WSJT and GJTRACKER can use the same
CALL3.txt file, and GJTRACKER can be used to edit that file. However, if you decide
to do that, remember that the above zip file also includes my current CALL3.txt
file! You may not want to overwrite your existing CALL3.txt file unless you are
primarily interested in 6m EME ;-)
